Integral, Elland, Banking Hub

  • Client Integral
  • Location Elland
  • Commercial
The Problem

A post office banking hub, often referred to as a banking hub" or "community banking hub" is a facility within a post office that offers basic banking services in areas where traditional bank branches may have closed or where access to banking services is limited. These hubs are part of efforts to ensure that communities, especially in rural or underserved areas, still have access to essential financial services.

The Solution

SOLJET were appointed by Cash Access UK to convert what was previously a small bar and restaurant in Elland Town Centre into a new community banking hub on behalf of Integral. In total 7 new areas were formed in the 120 m2 of space provided by the facility inclusive of glazed meetings rooms, security offices, disabled WC and kitchenette area for staff.

Summary

The project included isolation, full strip out and demolition of existing walls, partitions and ceilings and the reconfiguration of mothballed areas to comply with building regulations. Newly installed Mechanical and Electrical services including lighting, small power, data and specialist LV distribution requirements as well as HVAC, HCWS and specialist outlets.

Internal fit out works included new ceilings, walls and floors with partitions created to form new rooms as per the new fire strategy plan. A new security office with additional partition protection was installed alongside a fully glazed meeting room with security door for future meetings as part of the banking hub service.

The project was completed within the 6 week period set out at the beginning of the contract and under budget with value engineering and time savings presented by SOLJET to the client.
