The Solution
SOLJET’s work included the demolition and strip out of existing rooms to facilitate space for the repurposing of a Technical Area, Control Area, X-Ray Room, Recovery Bay and Gamma Room.
The new layout of the facility was formed using new partitions, plasterboard and glazed screens. Where required new walls were lead lined and penetrations sealed to be compliant with the radiography factors present in each room. A new suspended grid system was introduced throughout with HTML appropriate grid and tile
Finishes included new floor levels were carefully created with high detail tolerances to achieve the required finish for installation of specialist equipment and finished with HTML compliant Vinyl. Other finishes such as decoration, wall vinyl, whiterock and window infills were completed by the Soljet team.
The new fire strategy of the building was achieved via the installation of compliant fire doors and necessary fire stopping protection works.
All new rooms were provided with newly installed Mechanical and Electrical services including lighting, small power, data and specialist LV distribution requirements as well as HVAC, HCWS and specialist outlets throughout.
The project was completed before the estimated handover date and has seen SOLJET as a preferred contractor across new schemes at the facility.
Our team were also responsible for the installation of a suspended frame system that would be responsible for the holding of the new X-Ray scanning equipment much needed by the trust to improve their radiology output as a department.
